Project 3: The Economics of EQS

The objectives of Project 3 are to: 

1. provide a theoretical and political servey of the impact of cost-effectiveness and economic efficiency in defining and enforcing water quality standards, and how these concepts have been implemented in practice in a number of selected countries
2. provide an assesment of the cost-effectiveness of the existing water quality standard system in Sweden, and
3. develope index measures for environmental quality when "water quality" is some function several measurable attributes.

The investigations rely on the use of different - foremost quantitative - research methods.
